He got a chance to be included in the national squad when he was scouted by Coach Stephen Constantine in December last year. Now the striker, who has tremendous close control skills that help him in deceiving the defenders and natural goal-scoring ability, is going to play for the Roaring Lions. Jeje Lalpekhlua is one of the brightest young talents in the country. In 2007, he signed for Pune FC after which he was loaned out to Pailan Arrows where he scored 13 goals in 15 games in 2010-11. He went back to Pune FC the following season and later turned out for Dempo. He moved to Mohun Bagan and won the Hero I-League in his first year with the Mariners. Jeje had a brilliant first season of the Hero ISL. He scored four goals in the league, the most by any Indian. Hero ISL 2015 saw him better his tally by ending the season as the highest-scoring Indian from open play with six goals. He also provided three assists. Last year he scored three more times while bagging two assists. Jeje has been exceptional in the last few years in India colours too and will definitely be one to watch out again.
